I am a mother of two adventurous boys, an observing artist, an explorer of the universe, a seeker of wonders, a contemplator of all things cosmic and natural.
One of my most significant inspirations that I incorporate into art is the natural world and all of its wonder. Most of my earthly renderings are carried out in the style of realism. I am currently focusing on creating a series of paintings that combine botany, fauna, mycology, and pomology juxtaposed with daylight and dark, weather, seasons, and the cosmos. For my here and now/future work, I will be integrating allegorical representation in relation to natural history, scientific display, often describing environmental, emotional, social, and spiritual phenomena. This will be a reflection of my own psyche whose expressions engage with the emotions of daily desires, fears, joys, pleasures and passions.
At first my work may appear to be a sort of field journal, but is actually a complex composite of subjects chosen from my personal recollections of interaction and observation of the subjects. I try to portray my emotions that were perceived while observing, experiencing, or imagining the subjects and scenery. I hope to inspire my audience to feel my emotions by my use of design and arrangement of these subjects, coupled with my use of light, color and technique.
